How do I get started with BRIX?
To get started with BRIX, download it for macOS (Apple Silicon) or Windows, create an account to start 7 days of STARTER free with no card, and let the onboarding connect at least one engine — Claude Code or Codex. Then point a Workspace at your project folder, launch a squad, and you have a team of linked agents working in about ten minutes.
What do I need before installing BRIX?
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Mac | Apple Silicon (M1 or newer), macOS 12 or later. Intel Macs are not supported. |
| Windows | Windows 10 (1809+) or 11, x64 or ARM. One installer covers both. |
| At least one engine | Claude Code (Claude Pro or Max), Codex CLI (ChatGPT Plus or Pro), Antigravity or OpenCode. The onboarding can install Claude Code and Codex for you. |
| An account | Email and password, or Google. Created inside the app. |
BRIX does not charge for models. Each agent runs on the CLI and subscription you already pay for, signed in with your own account. Linux is not supported.
How do I install BRIX on a Mac?

Download the .dmg
Go to the downloads page and click Download for macOS.
- 2
Drag BRIX into Applications

The Windows installer is not code-signed yet, so Edge and SmartScreen may ask you to confirm. The file is the same one published on the BRIX GitHub releases.

On the downloads page, click Download for Windows. The page picks x64 or ARM for you.
- 2
If Edge blocks it, open downloads

- 3

Hover over the BRIX file, click the three dots (…) → Keep. In the warning, click Show more → Keep anyway.

- 1
Create the account in the app

Confirm your email (email sign-up only)
BRIX sends a confirmation link. Confirm it, then sign in from the app.
- 3
Use the 7-day trial
A new account gets 7 days of STARTER free, with no card. A chip in the toolbar shows how many trial days are left.
- 4
Subscribe when you are ready
Click the trial chip or Subscribe in the user menu. Checkout opens in the browser. If you do nothing, the trial simply ends and BRIX asks you to subscribe.
| Plan | Price | What it opens |
|---|---|---|
| STARTER | US$ 10/mo for the first 3 months, then US$ 14/mo | The whole agent environment: Workspaces, Grid, Canvas, squads, Scene, SuperAgents, code tools |

After subscribing there is a 7-day guarantee. Details on the plans section. Your plan is tied to the account, so it works on both Mac and Windows.
What does the BRIX onboarding set up?
The first run has three stages: a few slides about the app (Skip is always visible), the engine setup, and a short guided tour. Closing the app midway resumes where you stopped.
The engine setup
BRIX checks each CLI on your machine and shows a card per engine: Ready, Installed, sign-in missing or Not installed. You need at least one ready to continue — or click Set up later.
| Card | Runs on | What the button does |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Code (recommended) | Claude Pro or Max | Install runs the official native installer; Sign in runs the official login |
| Codex CLI (recommended) | ChatGPT Plus or Pro | Install uses npm (or Homebrew on Mac); otherwise How to install opens the docs |
| Antigravity (optional) | Comes with the Antigravity app | How to install opens Google’s page |
| OpenCode (optional) | Many providers | Install runs its official installer |
| ChatGPT Plus / Pro | Your ChatGPT subscription | Connect ChatGPT signs in through the browser, so SuperAgents and studio chats run on GPT without an API key |
| BRIX skills | — | Teaches Claude Code and Codex to operate the app: teams, notes, studios |
| BRIX MCP (optional) | — | Registers BRIX in Claude Desktop and the Codex app |
Nothing installs in the background. Install and Sign in open a visible BRIX terminal with the official command, for example:
# Claude Code on macOS
curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash
# Claude Code on Windows (PowerShell)
irm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iex
# Codex CLI
npm install -g @openai/codexWhile it runs, the setup shrinks to a small pill and comes back on its own when the card turns green. To see everything again later: Preferences → Replay welcome.
How do I create my first Workspace?
- 1
Create the Workspace
In the left sidebar, click +. Double-click the name to rename it after your project.
- 2
Point it at your project folder
Pick the folder. Every agent opened in this Workspace starts there.
- 3
Launch your first agent
Click Claude Code or Codex in the quick-start. A real terminal opens in the folder, signed in with your account. Talk to it exactly as you would in any terminal.
- 4
Add a second agent and link them
Open another terminal, switch the layout to Canvas and draw an edge between the two. Now one can ask the other things directly.
Each project gets its own Workspace. Switching between them never closes a terminal, and your session comes back when you reopen the app.
How do I launch my first squad of agents?
- 1
Open BRIX Squads
Click Squads in the agents sidebar (available in the Grid, the Canvas and the Scene) or the squads button in the Canvas toolbar.
- 2
Pick a squad
For a first run, choose End-to-end feature: Architect, Backend, Frontend and QA. For a bug, Bug hunt: Repro, Investigator, Fixer.
- 3
Let it spawn
The agents appear in the open Workspace, each with its role and briefing, already linked to whoever it needs to talk to. In the Grid, the Architect takes the left column as orchestrator.
- 4
Give the lead the task
Tell the Architect what to build. It writes the API contract, splits the work between Backend and Frontend, and QA reports failures straight to whoever caused them.
- 5
Watch it in the Scene
Switch to the Scene to see who is reading, typing or waiting for you. A raised hand means an agent needs your answer.
Any agent inside BRIX can do the same from a prompt or the command line:
medmaestri squad list
medmaestri squad featureTo build your own squad, duplicate a ready-made one and change the roles, or start from scratch. More in orchestrate a team of AI agents.
What should I try next?
- Mix engines: put Codex on QA and Claude Code on the build. See Claude Code and Codex together.
- Create a SuperAgent with its own memory and knowledge base: AI agents with persistent memory.
- On PRO, switch to MARKETING, register the product and open COPY: from code to sales.
- Understand every piece of the app: how BRIX works.
